Natalya Rapoport, Ph.D., D.Sc., of the University of Utah in Salt Lake City and colleagues describe a new method of drug delivery that uses ultrasound to image tumors, while also releasing the drug from "nanobubbles" into the tumor, according to a study published online July 10 in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute.
Patients receiving standard intravenous TPA therapy within 3 hours of symptom onset are given perflutren nano-bubbles (ImaRx Therapeutics, Tucson, AZ). Nano-bubbles are given together with TPA in 2 infusions via separate iv line over 30 minutes each (1.4 cc nano-bubbles diluted with 50 cc normal saline per infusion dose). All patients receive 2 hours of continuous TCD monitoring.
Symptomatic ICH (safety), complete recanalization or dramatic clinical recovery at 30, 60, 90, and 120 minutes after TPA bolus.
Clinical recovery at 24 hours and 3 months (NIHSS and mRS scales).

Preliminary data obtained using Raman and Ultra-Violet–Visible (UV–VIS) spectroscopy illustrate the ability to distinguish two different homeopathic medicines (Nux vomica and Natrum muriaticum) from one another and to differentiate, within a given medicine, the 6c, 12c, and 30c potencies. Materials science concepts and experimental tools offer a new approach to contemporary science, for making significant advances in the basic science studies of homeopathic medicines.
The new controversy about the efficacy of alternative, or complementary, medicine proves this is a subject where strongly held opinion is prevalent. Homeopathy has been around for some 200 years, the founder was a German physician Samuel Hahnemann (1755-1843) who had great success in treating epidemics of scarlet fever. Villages treated with his prophylactics entirely escaped dreaded epidemics, including the plague.
Miasms hold an important key to the development of the personality of the diseased person. The personality of the subject is compared with the "personality" of the homeopathic remedy. This aritcle discusses the personality of misams.
"Once the totality of the symptoms that principally determine and distinguish the disease case - in other words, the image of any kind of disease - has been exactly recorded, the most difficult work is done. During the treatment (especially of a chronic disease), the medical-art practitioner then has the total disease image always before him. He can behold it in all of its parts and lift out the characteristic signs."
